Shop Floor Printables, Travelers & Thermal Labels

Print Life Software provides dedicated physical paperwork, press room traveler packets, and 4×6 thermal stickers calibrated specifically for commercial apparel decorators. The printing engine utilizes zero-configuration page breaks, automatic viewport unlocking, and hardware-targeted media profiles (Standard Letter 8.5×11 and 4×6 Thermal) so documents print cleanly across all web browsers without clipping.

      • Individual Packing Slips: Formatted with high-visibility physical cubby badges (WAVE 1 • BIN 03), student/player attribution, and itemized contents.
      • Single Slip Reprint Isolation: Accessible via ?orderId=[orderId] to reprint a single damaged slip without running the full batch.

2. Capabilities & Operational Boundaries

Supported Capabilities

  • Reusable Shop Box Size Presets & Dual Garment Capacity Estimator: Define and save your shop's standard shipping box sizes (Length × Width × Height in inches) along with separate piece capacities for T-Shirts / Light (pcs) and Hoodies / Fleece (pcs). Selecting a saved box automatically estimates how many boxes a mixed order of tees and hoodies will require.
  • Dryer Offload QC Write-In Grid Box Labels: Pre-prints Customer Name, Job #, PO #, and Garment Brand + SKU + Color directly from the quote above a tall blank write-in size grid (S, M, L, XL, 2XL...), paired with a dedicated QC / Counted By (Initials) sign-off line and Box Total Pcs box at the bottom so your folder at the end of the dryer can count and record exact per-box quantities during quality control.
  • Cover Sheet + Project Pages Architecture: Production Travelers automatically output a high-level job cover sheet, followed by dedicated project pages forced onto new physical sheets (break-before: page), ensuring clean organization at the press.
  • Ascending Retail Size Progression: Garment piece counts on box labels and packing slips automatically sort from smallest to largest (XS -> S -> M -> L -> XL -> 2XL -> 3XL -> 4XL -> 5XL).
  • Scannable Barcodes: Every box label and packing slip includes high-contrast Code 128 barcodes for instant scanner lookups.
  • High-Visibility Cubby Badges: Store packing slips prominently feature bold bin badges (e.g., WAVE 1 • BIN 04) allowing operators to slide slips into cubby bins before garments come off the dryer belt.

Operational Boundaries

  • Supported Hardware Profiles: The system standardizes on Letter (8.5×11 inches / A4) for documents and travelers, and 4×6 inches for thermal label rolls. Non-standard continuous dot-matrix tractor paper is not supported.
  • Browser Print Dialog: Print execution utilizes the native browser print engine (window.print()). Physical printer driver settings (color, tray selection, darkness/density) are managed through your operating system print dialog.

Toggle Show Ordered Qty Hints to show or hide total ordered quantities in the size headers, or toggle Blank Box # ( ___ / N ) to hand-write box sequence numbers.
    • Order Summary (Pre-Filled): Prints the pre-filled garment styles, colors, and size counts on each sequenced label (Box 1 / N, Box 2 / N...).
  5. Click Print [N] Box Labels (4×6) in the top-right header, select your 4×6 thermal label printer (Zebra, Rollo, Dymo) with Paper Size: 4×6 inches and Margins: None, and click Print.

  2. Locate the customer's order row in the ledger.

Workflow 5: Using the Tablet Production Sheet at the Press

  1. Mount an iPad or Android tablet at your press or receiving station.
  2. Open /quotes-invoices/[id] $\rightarrow$ select the Production Sheet tab.

  5. Advancing Milestones:
    • In the Shop Floor Milestone Checklist, tap the active milestone button.
    • The job automatically advances through your Kanban pipeline in real time.

4. Business Logic, Formulas & Physical Media Standards

Mixed-Order Box Count Estimation Formula

When a saved shop box preset is selected on the Box ID Labels (4×6) tab, every garment line item on the quote is classified as either a Standard / Lightweight Garment (T-Shirt) or a Heavyweight / Fleece Garment (Hoodie, Crewneck, Sweatshirt, Fleece, Jacket):

$$\text{Estimated Boxes} = \max\left(1, \left\lceil \frac{\text{Total T-Shirt Pieces}}{\text{Box T-Shirt Capacity}} + \frac{\text{Total Hoodie/Fleece Pieces}}{\text{Box Hoodie Capacity}} \right\rceil\right)$$

When clicking Estimate from L×W×H inside the Add Shop Box Size modal, cubic volume ($V = L \times W \times H$ in $\text{in}^3$) is converted into baseline capacities using standard wholesale case densities:

$$\text{Baseline T-Shirt Capacity} = \max\left(1, \text{round}\left(\frac{L \times W \times H}{62}\right)\right), \quad \text{Baseline Hoodie Capacity} = \max\left(1, \text{round}\left(\frac{L \times W \times H}{165}\right)\right)$$
