What’s going on, Print Fam? If you're new here, I'm Cam. Welcome to The Print Life.
Today, I’m thrilled to demonstrate a brand-new feature we’ve been planning and building for months. This is a game-changer for your workflow that eliminates one of the biggest bottlenecks in sales: the endless back-and-forth quoting.
Have you ever sent a quote for 48 shirts, only to have the customer immediately reply, "Hey, what would the price drop to if we jumped up to 72?"
Now, you don't have to re-calculate, rebuild, and re-send a quote. They can do it themselves.
Here is exactly how to set up the Customer Quantity Adjuster and the Volume Savings Scale, and why it will make your life a whole heck of a lot easier.
How to Enable the Feature
To get started, navigate to your Settings from the main dashboard, and click on the Features tab.
You want to toggle on two specific settings:
- Public Quote Volume Savings Scale
- Customer Quantity Adjuster on Public Quotes
Once these are enabled, any quote or invoice you send to a customer will now feature an interactive sliding scale.
Let Customers Upsell Themselves
When your customer opens the secure link to view their approved mockups and quote, they will see a new module at the bottom.
Let's say they are currently quoted for 48 pieces at $7.99 a piece.
Right below their total, the Volume Quantity Tier scale shows them exactly what they would pay if they bumped their order to the next price break. They can clearly see that jumping from 48 to 72 pieces drops their unit cost down to $6.96.
If they want the savings, they just click the 72 Tier, hit Save Quantity, and the system automatically:
- Updates the total quantities across the entire project.
- Dynamically recalculates the grand total.
- Updates all price tiers automatically.
They get a better price per shirt, and you get a larger order without lifting a finger. It works the exact same way that major companies like Custom Ink use to drive massive volume.
⚠️ Important Note: Matrix Pricing Required
There is one critical requirement before you enable this feature: Matrix Pricing Compatibility.
Because this scale dynamically calculates rates on the fly based on your price matrices and product markups, you must be using our pricing engine correctly.
[!WARNING] If you are the type of shop that manually overrides garment costs and decoration prices on a per-quote basis, do not enable this feature. The system cannot scale arbitrary manual numbers.
This is yet another reason why I strongly recommend you take the time to dial in your Price Matrices and Product Markups. When you automate your math, you unlock powerful features like this that actively increase your sales volume.
The Bottom Line
Start using matrices, start using markups, and enable these features.
You are going to see your order volume increase, and the back-and-forth emails between you and your customers will be reduced drastically. Your customers don't have to bug you to send three different quotes with different pricing tiers, and you get your time back.
Get in there, flip the switches, and let’s get to printing!
